grafitti  is made up of tags, stickers, stencils, posters, free hand, fine art, sculptures. most grafitti artists have a style that they stick to and get rekown for.

Graffiti Artist Visit

we had a visit from a local graffiti artist called Roy, he explained how he got into graffiti and why he loves it and why he sees it as he does. He also showed us how street art began and how it ties in with hip hop culture. He showed us a couple of videos which showed people who started the movement and how it has changed now.

Later on in the day he asked us to give it a go, we were given some magazines to have some examples and inspiration. everyone tried to draw the word capture in a graffiti style. it was a good day and this is the end of day results i had.

Street Art.

Through the "gift shop" The Documentry was made because they wanted to prove that street art was never about the money but more about the
After watching the Doctumentry on street art.
i saw that street art is alot bigger , in terms of style. Because it can be done by painting ,drawing, stencils,  stickers, Posters leaflets.  the range of style extends to almost anything meaning anyone could do something just to get their name out their or to make a point.
It also showed how normal people did it and how it was also used for political things

Typography attempt.

This is my attempt at a form of typography. made in photoshop firstly i changed the image to black and white. i then selected areas using the magic wand or with the pen tool, and filled it with words. or if it was a pen tool like i would type on i which would make my words trace around the line.

Experiment

Continuing some experimentation with words, trying to create some typography.

David carson

David Carson was born on September 8, 1952 in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Carson is extremely famous for his typography. I find his work very interesting and extremely influential.

I like his work and typography because its very unique. for just being words it has the possibility to be more then just words emphasizing a point. or even just making something more interesting then a essay or words, its also more eye catching , appealing and attractive.

Examples of David's work

This work makes me really think about what he is saying , it makes me want to look at it for longer almost studies the word  and its also kinda fun to try and find what is in the back ground.
These are possibly bits of his work showing how iconic words can be, for instance if coka cola had suddenly changed their font it would look completely different to you , you would look at it twice and check if its the real version.
and the same principled apply to all other fonts.

An image of David Carson with one of his pieces of work .
As you can see this pieces of work stands out and draws attention to it.

Typography

This was achieved by using the warp option , which meant we could manipulated the words into a shape we can do.

This adds more effect to a word, potentially giving it more meaning and depth. and an expression. like having the word Boom in an exclamation mark could possibly emphasizes the fact its an explosion.
Useful for getting for maybe getting a point across or even changeling how the word its recited, from harsh to smooth.

Capture mind map.

A mind map expanding on what capture can be. This will help me choose which one to use or the options i have, and the range of how many their are, which I didn't think their where that many.
